Affordable Conflict Resolution with Transformative Mediation

Why Transformative Mediation?
In a society where policing has become the norm, transformative mediation is the opposite approach. Unlike traditional forms of mediation, I won’t guide or force the discussion in any direction. I won’t demand any kind of agreement as a result of your session. (Although that is often a welcomed side effect.) Instead, I’ll look for opportunities to reflect and summarize to support all parties through your conversation.
Transformative mediation is ideal for ongoing relationship-based conflicts. Basically, if you need to continue a relationship with the person/s you are experiencing conflict with, this form of mediation is likely for you.
My clients typically feel a high level of satisfaction with our sessions because they are each empowered to lead the session. Everyone gets to highlight the issues they feel are important. It allows them to fully express their thoughts and gives them a sense of being seen and heard.
If your partner never taking out the dog comes up in a co-parenting schedule discussion, I trust that you know why that’s relevant. After all, you’re the one who is living through the breakdown in communication, and I’m here to witness, empower, and encourage- not direct the conversation.

Session Types
I hope to provide the container and support so that all members of your party feel safe expressing themselves and navigating the conflict together.
My goal is to create a session that aligns with your party’s needs. We have options ranging from virtual to in-person in the Boulder or Longmont, CO area; even a ritualistic/witchy add-on option is available! (Additional fees may apply.)
Ritualize It!
You can request a custom ritual for any session. After your consultation, I will use my 10+ years of experience to design a ritual just for your party. This may include casting the space, intention setting, burning herbs, utilizing crystals, guided meditation, and/or closing the space.

The difference between transformative and traditional mediation services.
| Transformative | Facilitative (Traditional) | |
|---|---|---|
| Conflict is: | Crisis in human interaction | Problem in needs-satisfaction |
| A successful outcome of conflict intervention: | Shifts from destructive to constructive | Settlement agreement that solves the problem on fair, realistic terms |
| Increased party capacity for future decision-making and communication | ||
| The goal of third-party intervention: | Foster empowerment and recognition | Encourage interest-based bargaining |
| Enhance party decision-making and communication | Generate an agreement that resolves tangible issues | |
| Practice hallmarks: | Micro-focus on interaction | Macro-focus: form global assessments of “problem” |
| Support party deliberation and decision-making, and inter-party perspective-taking | Shape settlement terms | |
| Identify opportunities for party empowerment and inter-party recognition | Drop “intangible”issues |
